Innisfail Social and Sports Club of Montreal was formed in 1943 and incorporated via Letters Patent in 1946. Originally organized as the "social branch of the Ancient Order of Hibernians Canada.", the first officers of the Club in 1946 were:

• President: Thomas J. Faulkner
• Vice President: Martin Greene
• Treasurer: Patrick Murnane,
• Recording Secretary: John Kenny
• Corresponding Secretary: Martin Smith
• Councilor: John Connolly

The original Bylaws stipulate that the object of the Club was: to operate a non-political organizaton, whose aim is to encourage sport and social activity among its Irish and Irish Canadian members and their friends; to promote the social portrayal of Irish dance, the singing of Irish songs and, in general, to create the spirit of cooperation between people of Irish birth residing in Canada with other citizens of this country. And finally, in conjunction with the foregoing, to hold an Annual Field Day, an Annual Concert and to take part in the St. Patrick's Parade as a unit.

Almost sixty years later, the original mandate of the club has been upheld over the years. We proudly march in the Parade each year and welcome the participation of all our members in this annual event. Ceilis are held throughout the year, Christmas Baskets are distributed, we join in the Annual March to the Stone on Bridge Street as well as the Mass of Anticipation. Innisfail enjoys a wonderful relationship with its sister Societies and has come to be a respected member of the Montreal Council of Irish Communities. True to the original dream of its founding members, the club has grown in number over the years and operates on the premise of friendship and fellowship.

N.B. Initiation dues of $10.00 to be paid upon receipt of your membership card from the Treasurer. Membership Dues are renewable by December 31st each year in order to vote at the A.G.M. and Elections the following year.
