Dear Friends,

Well another year has passed, to mark the pages of our lives. Innisfail Social & Sports Club is now in its 61st year. Although the summer has gone by too quickly, your new Executive met in July to set up the program of activities for the coming year.

Thank you to all who attended this year’s Annual General Meeting in June. The Executive for the coming year consists of:

President: John Gilroy
Vice-President: John Faherty
Secretary: Ann Broden
Treasurer: Sandy McDonaugh
Past President: Roberta Wheeler

Our thanks to the Nominating Committee Chairman, Victor Boyle, and to his committee for a job “well done.” Victor has again volunteered to keep the Innisfail Website current. Thank you Victor.

I would personally like to thank our Immediate Past President, Roberta Wheeler, for her six years of leadership. Thank You Roberta.

The summer started off on a sad note and we offer our sincere sympathies to the families of:
Billy Clahane
Mary Silversides (sister of Edith Cavanaugh)
Richard Griffin (cousin of Kevin Muldoon)

Also please keep in your prayers our members who are ill, especially Kay Vaughan and Mike Gollogly.

Our Past President, Roberta, has been ill with pneumonia and we are glad to report she is doing better.

Congratulations and best wishes to those members who celebrated birthdays and anniversaries over the summer months. Again this year, we will happily recognize birthdays or anniversaries but we require current information of such dates and would encourage members to provide the information by email cruisebroden@hotmail.com or calling Ann Broden at (450-465-3421) directly so that the information can be included in future newsletters.

I would like to express my thanks to all who supported my nomination for President of Innisfail Social & Sports Club. I am deeply honoured and will endeavour to make 2006-2007 a fun and successful year.
